Frequently Asked Questions

What do I get with a license?

Jomres is a fully featured hotel and villa booking system which is designed to be a plugin for the Joomla and Wordpress Content Management Systems. The Core system is free and open source and can be installed through both CMS's "Install From Web" features.

When you have a license you're gaining the ability to download Jomres own plugins, which considerably extend the system's functionality and to raise support tickets (if your license allows) in the event that you have a question that you can't find an answer for in the manual.

I would like a free trial of Jomres, how can I get one?

Trial licenses are not available for Jomres.

Should I choose a Subscription or Pay Once license?

A Subscription is the best choice if you or your client intend to continue using Jomres as a part of your ongoing business activities. The license is paid for monthly and it includes unlimited plugin downloads. The license does not expire until the subscription is cancelled so you have peace of mind that we are here for you and that you have unlimited downloads for an unlimited number of sites. Many of our users are using Jomres consistently and we've found that a subscription is the right option for most of them.

The one-off license ( Essentials ) is a good choice if you're a designer setting up a site for a client and you don't expect to change the site once it's up and running. Once the license has expired you will no longer be able to download updated plugins or get access to support, however you are not forced to uninstall the plugins, you can continue to use them indefinitely.

A more complete explanation can be found here.

What happens when my license expires?

You can continue to use Jomres but you will not be able to download updates through the Jomres plugin manager, or get support, if your license offers support.

What happens if Jomres is missing a feature that I want?

Your needs are the future of Jomres. If you feel we are missing a feature that you need, let us know. The more people who comment on a specific feature request, the more likely we are to add it.

VAT (tax) not included

  • Customers outside the EU do not have to pay VAT
  • If you are in Spain, tax at 21% will be added to your invoice.
  • If you are in the rest of the EU and have a valid tax number, please register before ordering to ensure that tax is not added to your invoice.

ABOUT US

vince picDeveloped and maintained by Vince Wooll, Jomres was initially conceived in early 2005 as a Mambo based solution to a client’s hotel management needs. While it wasn't originally expected to be an online booking system it quickly morphed into one as users requested more and more features.

As the number of feature requests grew Vince knew that he would need to dedicate more time to the project and in July 2005 Jomres was released as a commercial project. Since then Jomres has become the world's oldest online booking plugin for any PHP CMS. It has been used in Joomla 1.0, 1.5, 2.5, 3 & 4 and WordPress 4, 5 & 6.

Aladar joined the project in 2010 after using Jomres for his own projects. He was active on the forum, helping other members of the community and eventually Vince invited him to join the team. Between 2010 and 2018 he was an integral part of the project and made many significant contributions.

Whilst not formally part of the Jomres project, Rodrigo Rocco and Vince have become firm friends. Rod is a freelancer who specialises in doing custom work for Jomres users and developing custom plugins for the system that take advantage of it's modular design. He has built many useful extensions including his fabulous Valentina Template Override Package.
