Version 9.8.8 has been released, and as usual, it's got lots of goodies for you.

 20 payment form

Stripe Payment Gateway

I've had to tweak Jomres slightly ( you won't notice it ) to improve how payment gateways are used within the system, which allows us to introduce our newest core payment gateway, which is for the Stripe payment service.

Why Stripe, may you ask? Well, aside from the fact that it offers a stunning online payment interface that never leaves your site and is very mobile friendly, it uses an absolutely gorgeous REST API for interserver communications, which makes it a dream to build for. It also offers an absolutely simple (optional) Application Fee feature.

What's this, you say? Basically, it allows you to deduct a fee from the deposit payment that goes direct to your account so that you can monetise your system in a ludicriously simple way.

This gateway is currently in it's experimental phase, so whilst it's available via the Jomres plugin manager, you should not use it on a Production server. Documentation ( both setup and testing ) can be found here. Please make the effort to feedback either on the forum or through the ticket system, bug reports etc aren't considered part of your ticket count.

A bunch of new (sorta) plugins

As some of you may be aware, Aladar is the other half of the Jomres team after Vince. For several years he's been running one of our partner sites, Jomres Extras. JE has long been known for producing great complementary plugins for Jomres, however time hasn't allowed him recently to spend much time on his plugins.

Loath to lose these great plugins, Vince has purchased Aladar's plugins and they will become part of the Core Jomres plugin library. Over the next week or so they will start becoming available direct in the Jomres Plugin Manager, and we'll continue to maintain these plugins for the forseeable future.

Logging

There are a number of changes relating to how you can view system logs, including remote services like Papertrail,  a NAS, Windows or even mobile phone apps if your server allows your PHP installation to access the openlog and syslog PHP functions. See the debugging tab in Site Config for more information. Information for developers can be found here. This allows you to see, in real-time, what's going on on your server. It's a great developer's tool.

ABOUT US

vince picDeveloped and maintained by Vince Wooll, Jomres was initially conceived in early 2005 as a Mambo based solution to a client’s hotel management needs. While it wasn't originally expected to be an online booking system it quickly morphed into one as users requested more and more features.

As the number of feature requests grew Vince knew that he would need to dedicate more time to the project and in July 2005 Jomres was released as a commercial project. Since then Jomres has become the world's oldest online booking plugin for any PHP CMS. It has been used in Joomla 1.0, 1.5, 2.5, 3 & 4 and WordPress 4, 5 & 6.

Aladar joined the project in 2010 after using Jomres for his own projects. He was active on the forum, helping other members of the community and eventually Vince invited him to join the team. Between 2010 and 2018 he was an integral part of the project and made many significant contributions.

Whilst not formally part of the Jomres project, Rodrigo Rocco and Vince have become firm friends. Rod is a freelancer who specialises in doing custom work for Jomres users and developing custom plugins for the system that take advantage of it's modular design. He has built many useful extensions including his fabulous Valentina Template Override Package.
