Yes, I'm squeezing in another Monty Python reference for my older visitors.

Something different?

There's a new plugin available on through the Jomres Plugin Manager called "Search Widget".

To get the full benefit of the plugin you will need to be running 9.23.0. Right now, that's not been released yet, but you can get it if you install the Nightly.

The purpose of the plugin is to provide you with a variety of different search forms you can use to put into widget/module locations on your site.

For years Jomres users have had access to search plugins that are designed for either Joomla or Wordpress, but this functionality brings search functionality that is CMS Agnostic, meaning you can run the search forms in either Joomla or Wordpress via shortcodes.

To date there 19 search forms available, in both horizontal and vertical format. Click on the links to see examples of the forms on the sandbox server.

Both pages are a bit slow to load, because rendering the forms does take some work, however you wouldn't normally have 10 instances of search forms on the same page. I'm particularly pleased with the horizontal location search with dates and sleeps option, as it's a lot more elegant than trying to jam country/region/town searching into one form.
