Jomres v6.0.0 released.
Site/Manager views
We've improved a previous version's functionality so it's possible now for Site Managers to view the frontend in either "Site Preview" mode or "Management view" mode. The Management view is essentially the Jomres content only, without any of the Joomla headers/modules etc. This gives the manager more space to work in on the page. If you want to brand the management page to suit your own tastes, then edit management_top.html to achieve your desired goal.
Property List page
List Properties now has a new Quick View button, which offers information about room types and property features in a sliding panel. It allows us to have the smarter Property List but still offer more information without forcing the guest to leave the search results.
Property Images are now clickable, jquery dialog popups instead of the older tooltip popup.
Jomres Main Menu.
The old toolbar-across-the-content-top has finally been retired, to be replaced by the new Jomres Mainmenu.
Instead of being triggered at the begining of Jomres' run, it's now triggered at the end, allowing much more dynamic construction of the main menu which can be controlled by Jomres or Third-party plugins. It also offers you the ability to call the menu via "Jomres ASAmodule" so that it can be shown on any page, not just Jomres pages. We can now offer far more menu options than we could before, which is another benefit.
The Main Menu comes in two flavours. The first is an Accordion style menu which is pinned to the top left of the page. This is good for fixed width templates, and provides a consistent feel to the administrator area menu. This is also the menu that's seen when the property manager/receptionist views the page in "management view" (where the Joomla template's modules are removed to give the user a larger working area). The Alternate menu hovers at the top of the page, and gives dropdowns to all possible options. Both menus are fixed to these positions and will fade out when the user scrolls down, until you mouse over them, when it'll come back into view.
Access Control
The change in the Jomres Main Menu raises new issues. How does a site manager enable/disable certain menu options? This builds upon previous questions that asked how to add/remove things from the older Jomres toolbar, so Jomres has a new Access Control feature (in fact, two) that allows the site manager to define the level a person needs to be to view certain plugins.
The simpler, default Access Control method allows the site manager to control which options are viewable in the Jomres Main Menu, and is expected to be used mainly by people wanting to remove certain menu options without needing to edit the files themselves, by setting access levels to individual menu plugins to Super Manager or Nobody. The older method that Jomres used to define who could access which scripts is still used, so for example a receptionist can not suddenly edit tariffs and rooms, so the original restrictions will still apply.
The more involved method can be enabled in Site Config (when Advanced config is enabled). With this option you can now control the level that a user needs to be to see each and every minicomponent that the system runs. See the Manual page for access control for more information. http://manual.jomres.net/admin_category_accesscontrol.html
Data Tables
Lists of data are now controlled by jQuery DataTables, which allow paging and easy sorting of large amounts of data.
Other changes
Updated plugin list to show more information and tweaked layout of the list.
Made some changes that allow us to set Jomres' "is wrapped" status via the url, allowing various functionality to be triggered while in an iframe.
Added option to enter license server login details to Site Config.
Added an option to use alternate SMTP settings, not Joomla's settings.
Added a feature to detect if the Joomla cache is enabled and advises to switch it off.
Added login, registration link, search options to jomres mainmenu.
Modified admin.php to trigger the obsolete file handling AFTER 00005 is called, and obsolete file handling to check a showtime variable called "obsolete_plugin_files" for any obsolete files and offer to delete them in the administrator area. Plugins can now report obsolete files that need to be deleted.
Removed booking form width/location settings as this has been figured out now in the template.
Updated jquery libraries.
Booking form totals summary slider slide feature disabled if we're in the property details page, as the height doesn't get set correctly otherwise.
And as usual a handful of bug fixes.
