Joomla 2.5 is nearly on us
First, for clarity, let's spell out the EOL dates of J1.5/1.6/1.7 :
Joomla 1.5 EOL: April 2012
Joomla 1.6 EOL: Last year, it's been nailed to it's perch by somebody.
Joomla 1.7 EOL: Feb 2012
To put not too fine a point on it, they're all unsupported by the Joomla project after April of this year. Joomla 2.5 is going to be the next Long Term Support release, so if you're wondering whether or not to upgrade, the answer is a firm "yes", you should, and soon.
As for Jomres, v6.1 already supports Joomla 2.5 so we will no longer formally support Jomres on Joomla 1.5/1.6/1.7 after 1st April 2012. We will leave the existing cms specific functionality in place, however, which will give our users time to upgrade from Joomla 1.5 to 1.7 or 2.5 but all future development and testing will be performed on Joomla 2.5. If you choose to remain on Joomla 1.5 you need to be aware that if security issues are found in Joomla versions after their EOL, they will not be fixed by the Joomla team, so whilst it's your choice, you're strongly advised to upgrade.
We hope you'll all join me in waving a fond farewell to Joomla 1.5*, it's been a great tool over the years but it's time to move onwards and upwards. We genuinely believe that Joomla 2.5 is an improvement and we're looking forward to many years of development for it.

* For the curious, Jomres has been developed consistently for Mambo 4, Joomla 1.0, Joomla 1.5, Joomla 1.6, Joomla 1.7 and now Joomla 2.5. There aren't many components that can say that.

This is just what I needed. I have been through several booking systems, with all sorts of problems. Jomres is easy to use for clients who wish to book on line, and very easy to set up and implement.
