Gigantic Jomres Log File in MySQL

There's a table called wwxuf_jomres_sessions that grows to absurd sizes pretty fast in MySQL. How can we control this file so it doesn't fill up the server HDD?

Thanks

Go to Site Config > Cron Jobs

snippets.jomres.net/2018-03-06_gdc6t.png

Scroll down and click on "session_files_cleanup", a blank new window should open up. Once it's finished loading, check to see if the table is still big, is it?

It should be run automatically.

Is it possible that the system is unable to call itself due to curl and fopen not being enabled on the server? Check the cron log in Tools > Logs, can you confirm that the system is calling itself to perform the cleanup?

The cron logs are triggered to work like asynchronous messages, Jomres calls itself with a "fire and forget" message to trigger scheduled tasks. This prevents the scheduled task from slowing down the normal page processes. If there are restrictions in place that are preventing the system from calling itself, that might be the cause.

Hello,
I run the Cron manually and the table is not clearing. Can I drop it manually from PhpMyAdmin ? Is it safe?

(I will change VPS...)

I specifically asked you which version. "Latest" is never the right answer to that question :D

Good. Make sure all plugins are updated, then go to Site Config > Cron jobs tab. Scroll down and click on Session Files Cleanup

Does that fix it?

You can use phpmyadmin and TRUNCATE the table, that'll be fine.

Thanks!!!

Is there any other table that I can truncate please?

Eg, I found the \public_html\jomres\logs\Core.application.log that it is 120MB !

Can I empty that file?

ABOUT US

Vince portrait smallaladar

Developed and maintained by Vince Wooll and Aladar Barthi, Jomres was initially conceived in early 2005 as a Mambo based solution to a client’s hotel management needs. While it wasn't originally expected to be an online booking system it quickly morphed into one as users requested more and more features.

As the number of feature requests grew Vince knew that he would need to dedicate more time to the project and in July 2005 Jomres was formally released as a commercial project. Since then, Jomres has become one of Mambo’s, and now Joomla’s, longest running projects. It has survived various versions of Mambo, then Joomla 1.0, 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, 2.5 and 3.

Aladar joined the project in 2010 after using Jomres for his own projects. He was active on the forum, helping other members of the community and eventually Vince invited him to join the team. He has since become an integral part of the project and has contributed significantly to it's development over the years.

Whilst not formally part of the Jomres project, Rodrigo Rocco and the team have become firm friends. Rod is a freelancer who specialises in doing custom work for Jomres users and developing custom plugins for the system that take advantage of it's modular design. He has built many useful extensions including his fabulous new Valentina Template Package.
