Hello,

I didn't upgrade JOmres long time ago, and now want to upgrade it (I made lot's of custom changes and because that every upgrade is night mare for me!)

So, I upgrade Jomres and Leotian template, and it's not work... When I click on quick view, it's show property...but when I open details, it's show that link is opened (in browser adress), but it's not show page.

Do you have any advice how to do this?

Thank you in advance

If you're seeing a blank page then you've introduced a fatal error somewhere. The easiest way to show errors like that in Jomres is in Site Config > Debugging set it to Development mode, then reload the page that's failing. What do you see?

Hi Rade

Perhaps its a cookie issue or I do not understand your problem.

The screenshot attached here is what I see. Perhaps you have fixed it already.

Yes, I have a backup and restore it. Now look like you post, but when I do upgrade of Jomres it's look like on first print screen in my previous post.

I cleare cache, if you think on that? Same all after that...

Check how you've made your custom changes, are them upgrade friendly , it's probably that when you upgrade your customizations get overriden.

When I upgrade Jomres, is it replace all files or just that which are changed by newer version?

Now I'm confused :)

If are all files are changed, than all my custom changes will be changed...so Jomres must work fine after upgrade. But my site don't work fine. I will create copy of that site and make upgrade so I will post link here and if someone can help me, because it's important to me to upgrade Jomres and Joomla...

I don't, I change original files and save them. And after every update of Jomres I change files all over again....every time. I complicate my life, I know that :)

But if after upgrade all files are changed, then something is wrong... That's why I will create copy of site, upgrade it (Jomres and template), and you will see what is a problem.

In your very first screenshot the only thing I can see is the addition of the Jomres menu. You can hide that menu by using the Access Control plugin to modify the menu options that show. If no menu options will show for unregistered guests, then the menu will hide.

Can you please provide a screenshot of what you mean, so that I can understand? I think I know what you mean, but a screenshot will clarify it.

I hope that I explano you good, I'm sorry because my bad english.

Maybe, as Ally said, it's a caching issue. When I visit www.montiago.rs/ponude/hotel-niko-kanali-934/pregled the property is displayed as I would expect it to look.

:) You probably don't read all posts.

That's site is online, so when I saw that is not good, I just make printscreen and restore backup so now site work fine. Problem start when I upgrad Jomres and Leotian template... That's site you see is with old Jomres...with newest it's not work.

The recommended approach, especially if you have a heavily customised site like yours, is to create a "staging" or development site using akeeba backup to copy your live site.

Once you have done that you can test updates without affecting your live server. When you do that you will have the luxury of figuring out what changes you need to make with affecting the live server.

I recommend that you do that, setup a staging server then we can see how that looks when you try to update.

Yes, you are right. I allways to that, but now I couldn't create backup with akeeba, I don't know why. It's create just some file of 3gb size, not zip file...

That's why I wait late night, when site have less visits, and try that.

I will try to create backup and restore it somewhere, as test site...and if I have same problems, I will reise ticket.

ABOUT US

Vince portrait smallaladar

Developed and maintained by Vince Wooll and Aladar Barthi, Jomres was initially conceived in early 2005 as a Mambo based solution to a client’s hotel management needs. While it wasn't originally expected to be an online booking system it quickly morphed into one as users requested more and more features.

As the number of feature requests grew Vince knew that he would need to dedicate more time to the project and in July 2005 Jomres was formally released as a commercial project. Since then, Jomres has become one of Mambo’s, and now Joomla’s, longest running projects. It has survived various versions of Mambo, then Joomla 1.0, 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, 2.5 and 3.

Aladar joined the project in 2010 after using Jomres for his own projects. He was active on the forum, helping other members of the community and eventually Vince invited him to join the team. He has since become an integral part of the project and has contributed significantly to it's development over the years.

Whilst not formally part of the Jomres project, Rodrigo Rocco and the team have become firm friends. Rod is a freelancer who specialises in doing custom work for Jomres users and developing custom plugins for the system that take advantage of it's modular design. He has built many useful extensions including his fabulous new Valentina Template Package.
