During our down time over the Christmas period, a few new bits of functionality may have been snuck in by Santa.

Just before Christmas Santa added a new Alpha version (9.4.-3) of Jomres. This version brings streamlined property creation functionality. Now, when a property is created, the user need only select their Country and Region of the property, and enter it's name and email address. When the property is created, an email ( available on release of 9.4.-1 ) is sent to the user with useful links including a link to the dashboard, their property details page and a link to the form that allows the user to contact the site managers.

Once the property is created, new links in the page will guide the property manager to the pages they need to visit to start setting up their property.

Added a new User Feedback function and supporting scripts.

Contact Owner script modified to send emails direct to site admin. This allows property managers to contact site owners without site owners needing to setup a separate Contact Us form. This would be particularly useful if your site admininistrators and customer support staff use different email addresses.

A new Embed Availability Calendar plugin has been added to give users a clear indication of how to include their availability calendar for their property on their own websites.
The new Jomres Ical plugin has been updated to offer a link to an iCal feed you can share publicly, it has booking data and guest details removed from the output, but preserves the actual dates. iCal file Import functionality has also been added, although we're keen to test this more thoroughly before we're prepared to release this version of the plugin.

We're formally back to support on the 5th of January. It normally takes us a couple of days to catch up with the tickets raised over the holiday period, but once that's out of the way we're hoping to release a new version of Jomres sometime in early January 2016.

Until then, Aladar and I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year!

ABOUT US

vince picDeveloped and maintained by Vince Wooll, Jomres was initially conceived in early 2005 as a Mambo based solution to a client’s hotel management needs. While it wasn't originally expected to be an online booking system it quickly morphed into one as users requested more and more features.

As the number of feature requests grew Vince knew that he would need to dedicate more time to the project and in July 2005 Jomres was formally released as a commercial project. Since then, Jomres has become one of Mambo’s, and now Joomla’s, longest running projects. It has survived various versions of Mambo, then Joomla 1.0, 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, 2.5 and 3.

Aladar joined the project in 2010 after using Jomres for his own projects. He was active on the forum, helping other members of the community and eventually Vince invited him to join the team. Between 2010 and 2018 he was an integral part of the project and made many significant contributions.

Whilst not formally part of the Jomres project, Rodrigo Rocco and Vince have become firm friends. Rod is a freelancer who specialises in doing custom work for Jomres users and developing custom plugins for the system that take advantage of it's modular design. He has built many useful extensions including his fabulous Valentina Template Override Package.
