Jomres is Joomla's longest running Hotel Booking System/Booking portal. GPL licensed and going strong for 9 years, and after many requests, we've finally integrated it into Wordpress. The core system is free and is a working booking system which can be enhanced with plugins that can be downloaded through the Jomres Plugin Manager once you have purchased a Download and Support license.

Jomres has been built with the mindset that the data you create is yours, and nobody elses. Jomres is not a SAAS/cloud based system where you pay a monthly fee and the availability is subject to the profitability (or otherwise) of a hosting service. Once it's downloaded and installed it's yours to use for the lifetime of your project.

It has historically been written for use in the Joomla Content Management System. We chose to integrate with a CMS because this significantly improves the flexability availabile to our users with respect to how they can customise their sites. Version 8.1 introduces the ability for users to install not only on Joomla, but also into Wordpress. This means that we are able to provide Wordpress users with a tried and tested booking system without them needing to learn a new CMS.

Jomres is 10mb in size, and most servers cannot upload it via file upload (it's too big) so installation is performed through a web installer script. You can download the Wordpress installation plugin from here. You can use the Wordpress Plugin installer to start the installation process, in time we will also add it to the Wordpress plugin directory.

To see a quick overview of it's features, see the page at www.jomres.net. A fuller (but still not exhaustive) list of features can be seen on the features page.

For the Jomres Wordpress installation guide, please see this page. If you would like to get involved with the community forum, please visit here.

n.b. Jomres 8.1 has been tested in Wordpress 3.8. It may work on earlier versions of WP, however we haven't tested it on those and we cannot vouch for it's functionality.

ABOUT US

vince picDeveloped and maintained by Vince Wooll, Jomres was initially conceived in early 2005 as a Mambo based solution to a client’s hotel management needs. While it wasn't originally expected to be an online booking system it quickly morphed into one as users requested more and more features.

As the number of feature requests grew Vince knew that he would need to dedicate more time to the project and in July 2005 Jomres was released as a commercial project. Since then Jomres has become the world's oldest online booking plugin for any PHP CMS. It has been used in Joomla 1.0, 1.5, 2.5, 3 & 4 and WordPress 4, 5 & 6.

Aladar joined the project in 2010 after using Jomres for his own projects. He was active on the forum, helping other members of the community and eventually Vince invited him to join the team. Between 2010 and 2018 he was an integral part of the project and made many significant contributions.

Whilst not formally part of the Jomres project, Rodrigo Rocco and Vince have become firm friends. Rod is a freelancer who specialises in doing custom work for Jomres users and developing custom plugins for the system that take advantage of it's modular design. He has built many useful extensions including his fabulous Valentina Template Override Package.
