The stunning new version of the Sunbearu Quickstart for Joomla 4 has been released and is available for download from your account on Jomres.net. It incorporates a lot of the new features of the upcoming Jomres 10.6 (see the forum for more info).
You can see the demo at https://joomla-portal.jomres.net
It's the product of many, many hours of work. I've endevoured to make it so that this Quickstart requires very little effort on your part to get your online booking engine up and running. Based on the excellent Cassiopeia template that comes with Joomla 4, it doesn't use any third party frameworks. Instead of forcing you to learn an unfamiliar framework, it's almost all pure Jomres and Joomla.
It comes pre-installed with login already configured, and the new Jomres Live Messaging System. This gives your guests the ability to contact you in real-time and live chat with you, via the best Joomla booking software available.
The main landing page is made of a variety of different custom modules that use Jomres plugins as shortcodes. This makes it incredibly easy for you to add or remove items from the landing page, or, if you want to use your own framework for page building, just import the Joomla modules via the framework's page builder.
Clicky imagy for biggie piccy.
What you see on the main page isn't everything that's available for you to use in this Quickstart. In the administrator area go to Site Modules and publish the "GiMeSpace Bootstrapped DropDown Menu v4" module. This menu option contains links to other possible pages you can use for landing pages such as map module, video module, property images slideshow module & a simple html module. It also contains links to other pages that demonstrate ways that you can use Jomres.
In anticipation of questions on how to do X, Y or Z I've started a variety of threads on the new Jomres forum. If you have any questions, either raise them as a ticket or post on the "How do I..." board.
Developed and maintained by Vince Wooll, Jomres was initially conceived in early 2005 as a Mambo based solution to a client’s hotel management needs. While it wasn't originally expected to be an online booking system it quickly morphed into one as users requested more and more features.
As the number of feature requests grew Vince knew that he would need to dedicate more time to the project and in July 2005 Jomres was released as a commercial project. Since then Jomres has become the world's oldest online booking plugin for any PHP CMS. It has been used in Joomla 1.0, 1.5, 2.5, 3 & 4 and WordPress 4, 5 & 6.
Aladar joined the project in 2010 after using Jomres for his own projects. He was active on the forum, helping other members of the community and eventually Vince invited him to join the team. Between 2010 and 2018 he was an integral part of the project and made many significant contributions.
Whilst not formally part of the Jomres project, Rodrigo Rocco and Vince have become firm friends. Rod is a freelancer who specialises in doing custom work for Jomres users and developing custom plugins for the system that take advantage of it's modular design. He has built many useful extensions including his fabulous Valentina Template Override Package.
