The default address (62, West Wallaby Street, Wigan, Lancashire, XXNN NNXX, United Kingdom, which is the address of a famous British inventor) can be changed by going to Administrator > Jomres > Settings > Site Configuration and using the "Your company details" tab.

The Organisation Logo input in that tab is only for the Google structured data, it's not used anywhere else in Jomres.

If nobody clicks that link and gets the joke, I'm going to cry

New property carousel plugin for BS5

New plugin: Property carousel. Bootstrap 5 only, this plugin shows a carousel of property cards much like the suggested products you see on Amazon. By default the card.html template file produces a limited output, but you can modify that as the plugin uses the get property module data (linked) to generate output.

Extended maps plugin updated

The Extended Maps plugin has been updated to play nicely with Joomla 4. It has also had it's popup handling improved to allow a direct input of html into the popup and the popup's layout has been prettied up a little. For Joomla 4 the plugin now uses the get_property_module_data function to construct the output, in the attached link you can see an article that describes this function in more detail. The popup_1.html template file can be found in /jomres/core-plugins/extended_maps/templates/bootstrap5/

New functionality : No Shows

The Nightly has been updated with new functionality that allows you to view a guest or potential guest's basic booking history across the Syndicate Network. In short, when a booking is created and if it is marked as No Show (another new flag for bookings) on ANY server in the network then the App server keeps an anonymised record of that. When you view the View Reservation details page, if this guest has booked within the JSN previously then a record of the number of bookings and the number of times their bookings have been flagged as No Shows will appear. This helps you to make informed decisions as to whether or not the guest is a No Show risk. To prevent abuse this particular feature is only available to installations with valid licenses, I'm afraid, however any installation can report a guest as a No Show. The guest's personal information is not stored on the App server, instead their email address is encrypted using one-way encryption.

Core Stripe gateway updated

The Core Stripe gateway has been updated, uses new Payment Intents technology from Stripe and is Strong Customer Authentication ready. Note, I found that the Lastpass Firefox extension was causing Content Security Policy issues during testing and dev. If you notice problems when entering the creditcard number (e.g. you don't get an additional authentication popup) and you use that plugin, please disable it for the duration of testing.

9.16.1 has been released. This fixes an important bug that was causing invoices to fail to be created and therefore bookings not taken. It also adds some room surcharge output to various templates including in the booking form.

9.16.0 has been released. This brings several new features 1. Popups in the booking form to make the form status messages easier to read. 2. Auto login guests who have had new accounts created for them when booking. This allows them to more seamlessly make a subsequent booking without needing to login after making the first booking. 3. Property managers can create custom invoice numbers, meaning that consequtive invoice numbers can exist for properties, and have their own format. 4. Surcharges for individual rooms. This allows property managers to say that a specific room costs X extra because, for example, it's a penthouse suite or it has a particular amenity. Feature can be configured in the Edit Room page (Micromanage and Advanced tariff editing modes). This prevents the need for site managers to need to create new room types for edge-case properties.

Jintour plugin updated

Added image uploading for tour profiles, and modernised how tours are displayed in the booking form, adjusting output so that it is constructed from a template file. Images can only be uploaded for tour profiles that have tours generated after this update due to a table change.

New property notes plugin

There's a new plugin available through the Jomres Plugin Manager called Property Notes. This allows you to create a set of notes that are specific to individual properties, for example keyholder details etc. It also offers a widget for displaying those notes in the frontend Control Panel. Menu option is called Private Notes and can be viewed under the Dashboard menu dropdown.

License numbers for old licenses changed

I have been doing some maintenance on the license server. As a result, those of you with older license keys might be getting license incorrect messages in the admin area of your Jomres installations. If you do see that, please log into your account on Jomres.net and use the key that you can find on your licenses page, it may have changed slightly and you'll need to use the new key. This only affects licenses that are older than about 5 years old.

Jomres 9.9.6 released. You MUST install the Plugin Manager plugin

In this version, to continue to use your Jomres installation you *must* install the Plugin Manager when prompted to in the Jomres Control Panel. The purpose of this change is to make the Jomres Plugin Manager itself a plugin, which in turn enables us to encode just 3 files for Trial and Subscription licenses, instead of all files. This results in a significant performance boost for these classes of licenses.

Some older installations sometimes had older language files that contain a call to a function that has been obsoleted, which could cause a fatal error. Restoration of that function to the codebase resolves the issue.

v9.8.26 released. Valentine's day, hugs to our users. Plenty of changes under the hood, cumulative tweaks and improvements and a handful of bug fixes.

9.8.25 released.

v9.8.25 released. This is a fairly minor release, unless you're using the REST API in which case you will need it as is resolves a bug in user validation ( nobody could be validated ). Addresses a few other small issues and some modification of webhooks for naming consistency.

PHPMailer library updated again for the second vulnerability. Took opportunity to add two new webhooks for booking creation and modification, documentation for the webhooks feature is pending.

Jomres 9.8.22 has been released. Updates the PHPMailer library due to a critical vulnerability in the previous version. Adds webhook handling functionality. A number of plugins will be released soon that also support this new feature.

Jomres 9.8.21 has been released. Fixes a couple of bugs that we wanted to resolve going into the winter period. 9.8.20 skipped due to problems with building versions in git.

Jomres 9.8.19 has been released. Adds Markdown for property managers, media centre improvements, user role updates and a bunch of other improvements.

9.8.18 released.

Jomres 9.8.18 has been released. Adds tweaks to ensure that registry rebuild on upgrade also clears javascript cache files.

9.8.18 release.

Jomres 9.8.18 will be formally released on Monday, 14th November. This version is designed to remove some issues that users were having with upgrading and older javascript files not being rebuilt. It also fixes a problem with some cron jobs not being added to the database. This version marks the first release since we moved Jomres over to it's new repository on Github. There is a version of 9.8.18 available now to download via the web installer, choose the Beta option to install it when you're offered the web installer. This version is purely for testing that after the repo move our existing processes are functioning as expected. The usual Beta warnings apply. Over the weekend we will also make the Jomres Github repo public. See you there!

News update

A new plugin ASAModule Latest has been added. This shows the most recently added properties. It is documented in Jomres > Developer tools > Shortcodes once installed. A few plugins have been updated, mostly with minor improvements. A new plugin called Marker Uploader is in the plugin manager, but requires v9.8.17, so you won't be able to install that yet.

Joomla 3.6.3 warning

Joomla 3.6.3 has been released, and some of our users are reporting problems on Leohtian based templates. Joomla have made some changes to how modules are handled and this seems to be impacting some installations. If you have a pre-Joomla 3.6.3 installation that you'd like to upgrade we would recommend that you first test a copy of that site on a development server and see if upgrading works for you before upgrading the live server. Given that Joomla 3.6.4 will be released Tuesday 25th October, and it will be a security release, we'd strongly advise your to test you upgrades as soon as possible.

ABOUT US

Developed and maintained by Vince Wooll, Jomres was initially conceived in early 2005 as a Mambo based solution to a client’s hotel management needs. While it wasn't originally expected to be an online booking system it quickly morphed into one as users requested more and more features.

As the number of feature requests grew Vince knew that he would need to dedicate more time to the project and in July 2005 Jomres was released as a commercial project. Since then Jomres has become the world's oldest online booking plugin for any PHP CMS. It has been used in Joomla 1.0, 1.5, 2.5, 3 & 4 and WordPress 4, 5 & 6.

Aladar joined the project in 2010 after using Jomres for his own projects. He was active on the forum, helping other members of the community and eventually Vince invited him to join the team. Between 2010 and 2018 he was an integral part of the project and made many significant contributions.

Whilst not formally part of the Jomres project, Rodrigo Rocco and Vince have become firm friends. Rod is a freelancer who specialises in doing custom work for Jomres users and developing custom plugins for the system that take advantage of it's modular design. He has built many useful extensions including his fabulous Valentina Template Override Package.
