How do you get started with Jomres?
THE EASY WAY
If you have a valid license you can download one of our Quickstarts. Once the Quickstart is uploaded to your web server ( it'll take a while as they're between 50mb - 100mb in size depending on which one you choose ) it's a 5 minute job to get a complete, open source booking system installed on your site. Trial licenses can download any flavour of the Quickstarts and use their Trial license key to experiment with the system too!
Ioncube is required for Trial licenses to intall and use the Quickstarts, but once a full license key (Starter/Business/Enterprise) is saved on your site, then you can reinstall all of the plugins and they're fully Open Source. They're only encoded for Trial sites.
ALTERNATIVELY
1. Install Joomla or Wordpress
Jomres needs to be installed on a host CMS and I often get asked, what's the best CMS for Jomres? The answer is: It depends. It depends on what you're most familiar with, you might prefer Joomla over Wordpress. If you're building a portal for other people to add their listings to your site, then Joomla has the edge over Wordpress. On the other hand Wordpress is undoubtedly quicker, and if you're using Jomres to sell bookings for your own property reservations, and if you like Wordpress, then that's what you should use!
2. Install & configure a template/theme
Once you've got the basics figured out, the next thing you should do is install a template (Joomla) or theme (Wordpress). Current Jomres UI development is centered primarily around Bootstrap 3, so you will need to find a Bootstrap 2 or 3 theme/template for your site. It doesn't need to cost you anything, there are plenty of free templates and themes available for both Wordpress and Joomla.

3. Install Jomres
Once you have your CMS up and running, the best way to install Jomres is through the CMS's Install from Web feature. Jomres Core is free, so this won't cost you a penny.
4. Configure your listings.
Remember, all property configuration is done via the public facing pages, not the administrator area. In fact, in new installations you can mostly ignore the administrator area except for installing plugins.
Just how you configure your listing depends on whether the site's for a single property, or multiple properties.
If it's a single property site, the easiest approach is to use shortcodes (license required) to put Jomres pages into articles. If you don't have a license, then for Joomla, add Jomres to a menu, or in Wordpress create a new page and add just [jomres:en-US] ( adjust accordngly for your site's language).
If it's a multiproperty site, then install a search plugin (license required). We have lots to choose from, then check out the manual, you'll see that there are scores of ways you can use the system. For Wordpress, you'll still need to add a page as described above.
Now, go explore the manual, it's a rich resource that's packed with information to help you to build a truly unique hotel and villa booking site using the toolkit that is Jomres.
