Jomres is a powerful booking management system that offers a variety of features to help you run your business smoothly. In this blog post, we'll be taking a closer look at two of those features: iCal and Channel Management.

iCal

Jomres' iCal feature allows you to easily import and export bookings via the iCal file format. This is a huge time saver, as it's compatible with the vast majority of OTAs (online travel agencies). This means that you can easily transfer bookings between Jomres and your chosen OTAs. This is a great way to keep your booking system up to date and avoid double bookings.

To use the iCal feature, simply go to the Jomres menu option in your site's main menu and click on the Bookings tab. From there, you can choose to either import or export bookings, and whether the exported feeds should be anonymised. It's that easy!

Jomres imports iCal feeds from other services automatically. There's no need to import them manually, Jomres does it for you on a fixed schedule.

Channel Management

For the full channel management experience, Jomres has partnered with Beds24. Beds24 is a leading provider of online booking software for hotels, hostels, vacation rentals, and more. Together, Jomres and Beds24 make it easy for you to manage your bookings and avoid double bookings.

Jomres also offers excellent channel management capabilities. With Jomres, you can manage all your booking channels from one central location. This includes popular OTAs such as Booking.com and Expedia. With Jomres, you'll never have to worry about double bookings again. Plus, you can rest assured that all your booking channels are always up to date.

To get started with channel management, first create an account with Beds24. Once you've done that, install the Beds24 plugin in the Plugin Manager, then in the property manager's area go to the Settings menu and click on the Channel Management tab. From there, you will be able to connect your Jomres properties to your Beds24 properties. You can import existing Beds24 properties, or export properties from Jomres to Beds24.

Alternatively, use the Beds24 API to export Inventory and Prices. This feature of Beds24 uses Jomres powerful REST API functionality to automate your connections between different OTAs.

ABOUT US

vince picDeveloped and maintained by Vince Wooll, Jomres was initially conceived in early 2005 as a Mambo based solution to a client’s hotel management needs. While it wasn't originally expected to be an online booking system it quickly morphed into one as users requested more and more features.

As the number of feature requests grew Vince knew that he would need to dedicate more time to the project and in July 2005 Jomres was released as a commercial project. Since then Jomres has become the world's oldest online booking plugin for any PHP CMS. It has been used in Joomla 1.0, 1.5, 2.5, 3 & 4 and WordPress 4, 5 & 6.

Aladar joined the project in 2010 after using Jomres for his own projects. He was active on the forum, helping other members of the community and eventually Vince invited him to join the team. Between 2010 and 2018 he was an integral part of the project and made many significant contributions.

Whilst not formally part of the Jomres project, Rodrigo Rocco and Vince have become firm friends. Rod is a freelancer who specialises in doing custom work for Jomres users and developing custom plugins for the system that take advantage of it's modular design. He has built many useful extensions including his fabulous Valentina Template Override Package.
