You can also connect to the major channel managers, giving you one place to manage your property details and availability on hundreds of other booking sites including Airbnb, Booking.com, HomeAway / VRBO, Google, Agoda, Expedia, Trip.com, TripAdvisor, and Hostelworld.

2. A WordPress or Joomla booking portal for many rentals or hotels, with different owners all managing their own properties in a secure environment.

Again, you can give each owner the ability to connect to the major channel managers.

3. A WordPress or Joomla booking portal for any type of online reservation: vehicle hire, tours, hostels, boat hire, safaris, game console rentals … absolutely any type of item, place, or service that can be reserved for a night or day.

4. Your next startup. Consider Jomres to be your technical co-founder. Don’t waste precious months trying to write a booking engine from scratch when our code, with 15 years of active service and evolution behind it, can start selling any type of bookable item, place, or service for you today.

5. Your own thriving business as a Jomres integrator. If you invest the time necessary to master Jomres, you can make a good living setting up booking sites for clients all over the world.

How is Jomres so flexible?

Stable, Reliable and Trusted for 15 Years

Jomres has over 160 booking-related add-ons, all based on the needs of our users over the past 15 years, and all free. That gives you unparalleled flexibility to select the exact features your business needs.

For 15 years, Jomres has been the leading Open Source Software for online reservations. Thousands of companies already trust it as the stable and reliable foundation for their business. Now we have integrated with WordPress for ease of use and maintenance.

How will YOU make Money?

Some booking sites allow customers to make a booking online and pay later, possibly when they arrive, but most require some sort of payment at the time of booking, either the full amount or a deposit. The easiest way for most people to pay is by using a credit or debit card.

Once you have experimented with Jomres, have built your booking site, and are ready for customers, you can turn on card payments with the click of a button.

Jomres contains a payment gateway that allows customers to pay you using all major credit cards, debit cards, and online payment methods from every country, in over 135 currencies.

Stripe, an American company valued at $36 billion, is the most innovate online payment processor and we use their Connect feature to split up payments.

Alongside all the major credit and debit cards from all over the world, Stripe has always been quick to add new payments methods such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, WeChat Pay, and Alipay, continually increasing your pool of potential customers.

How does Stripe make Money?

Of course, you don’t need to worry about any of that. All you need is your own Stripe account which, again, is free and easy to set up if either you or your company have a bank account in one of the 39 countries in which Stripe operates (your customers can be in any country).

When you actually start getting bookings, the Stripe card processing fee ranges between 1.4% and 3.5%, depending on the card your customer uses and your country. In Europe it is 1.4% if your customer uses a European card, or 2.9% if the card is non-European. In the United States, the fee is around 2.9% for all cards.

In addition, as described in the next section, there is a 2% application fee that supports Jomres.

How does Jomres make money?

We want as many people as possible to find Jomres useful. That is why there is no time-limited trial, no subscription fee, no paid upgrades, and no credit card required. Ever.

To fund the continued development of our software, the maintenance of our platform, and the support we provide, Jomres gets a 2% application fee which Stripe seamlessly adds to their card processing fee. This only ever occurs if you decide to use online payments.

Depending on the country of your Stripe account, your total transaction cost per booking should be under 5%, significantly less than any hosted booking service. You pay nothing until you are actually making money.

You can also, of course, have a booking site that never takes payments. For example, you could ask your customers to pay the full amount when they arrive. In that case you can still have the rest of the online booking process, including confirmation emails and all our other features, without ever having to process a transaction or pay a transaction fee to either Stripe or Jomres.

Just remember that without payments you are much more likely to get cancelled bookings because the guests haven't invested money in their commitments, so it's in your best interest to take payments online.

Are you ready to work with your new partners?

ABOUT US

vince picDeveloped and maintained by Vince Wooll, Jomres was initially conceived in early 2005 as a Mambo based solution to a client’s hotel management needs. While it wasn't originally expected to be an online booking system it quickly morphed into one as users requested more and more features.

As the number of feature requests grew Vince knew that he would need to dedicate more time to the project and in July 2005 Jomres was released as a commercial project. Since then Jomres has become the world's oldest online booking plugin for any PHP CMS. It has been used in Joomla 1.0, 1.5, 2.5, 3 & 4 and WordPress 4, 5 & 6.

Aladar joined the project in 2010 after using Jomres for his own projects. He was active on the forum, helping other members of the community and eventually Vince invited him to join the team. Between 2010 and 2018 he was an integral part of the project and made many significant contributions.

Whilst not formally part of the Jomres project, Rodrigo Rocco and Vince have become firm friends. Rod is a freelancer who specialises in doing custom work for Jomres users and developing custom plugins for the system that take advantage of it's modular design. He has built many useful extensions including his fabulous Valentina Template Override Package.
