I'm pleased to announce that there's a new Cryptocurrency payment gateway available in the Jomres plugin manager.

I've been wanting to create a new Crypto payment gateway for some time, and eventually I settled on Bitpay. This gateway allows guests to pay you using crypto currencies, and for your property to receive the payments in your currency of choice. See here for more information.

Bitpay supports

  • Bitcoin
  • Ethereum
  • Bitcoin Cash
  • Litecoin
  • Wrapped BTC
  • Doge
  • Shiba Inu

It also works with stable coins such as

  • USD Coin
  • Binance USD
  • Pax Dollar
  • Gemini USD
  • DAI

The Jomres Bitpay payment gateway works just like most other Jomres payment gateways. It's installed through the Jomres Plugin Manager, then in the frontend the property manager goes to their Property Configuration page > Payment gateways tab and they click on the gateway name to open up a popup that they use to configure the gateway. On that page there are several links to their Bitpay API key page where they can get their Test and Production keys. Once those keys are saved in the gateway popup, then they can accept deposit payments from a wide variety of Crypocurrencies.

This gateway should be considered "Beta" quality until stated otherwise, however I have a high level of confidence that it won't be long before this is changed to Stable. If you're a fan of Crypto, I highly recommend you consider testing this gateway for me and sharing your results with me via the ticket system.

When you install it you may notice that the gateway's logo doesn't show up. There's a small change to the showconfirmation script in Jomres which you can find here. This will be in the next version of Jomres so if you want to modify your local version of that script to ensure that the logo shows, you can do.

Have a great week, everybody!

ABOUT US

vince picDeveloped and maintained by Vince Wooll, Jomres was initially conceived in early 2005 as a Mambo based solution to a client’s hotel management needs. While it wasn't originally expected to be an online booking system it quickly morphed into one as users requested more and more features.

As the number of feature requests grew Vince knew that he would need to dedicate more time to the project and in July 2005 Jomres was released as a commercial project. Since then Jomres has become the world's oldest online booking plugin for any PHP CMS. It has been used in Joomla 1.0, 1.5, 2.5, 3 & 4 and WordPress 4, 5 & 6.

Aladar joined the project in 2010 after using Jomres for his own projects. He was active on the forum, helping other members of the community and eventually Vince invited him to join the team. Between 2010 and 2018 he was an integral part of the project and made many significant contributions.

Whilst not formally part of the Jomres project, Rodrigo Rocco and Vince have become firm friends. Rod is a freelancer who specialises in doing custom work for Jomres users and developing custom plugins for the system that take advantage of it's modular design. He has built many useful extensions including his fabulous Valentina Template Override Package.
